I don’t picture a “Crusade” anywhere in our current call, known as the Great Commission. After the Sacrifice, that replaced the 10 Commandments.
And there are the troubling political origins of the Crusades. Pope Urban II probably started them to weaken his rival, Clement II. His stated reasons were to recover holy land; not much better. Every pope since then has found some similar reason to continue, until they basically ran out of knights.
And I do not want war declared in my name as a Christian.
