"Life is short - have an affair"

This is a tag line in a commercial for a company named "Ashley Madison".

Apparently Ashley Madison is a cyber based service where married women can go to find men not their husbands with whom to have sexual intercourse - that is to say in order to initiate contact with potential suitable lovers.

I am no prude; and what goes on behind closed doors is none of my business - sexual intercourse going on with spouses or NON-spouses; I don't care. Not one bit. Consenting adults can do whatever they like; I just don't care.

Here is the reason for my post. Tonight while watching a movie on Paramount Network there was a commercial for Ashley Madison. Two or three hot looking women - "married women" were giving their testimonials to how much they had been missing until...Ashley Madison.

Again - I am no prude; but I admit I was shocked to see this ad during a commercial break during a movie - I think the movie is PG-13. Not sure about that.
I am less than a year away from my 70th B-day. It doesn't seem very long ago that no one ever dreamed for a second that commercials like this would run on television (albeit Cable TV) and that no one would bat an eye.

Viagra and other solutions to address "erectile dysfunction" , Condoms, Vaginal lubricants, Dating services for LGBTQ...and on it goes.

I remember Rob and Laura Petrie slept in separate beds for gods sake! LOL - and now we have a commercial promoting sexual infedelity - and the target market for Ashley Madison is the married female.
Go figure.

Ok - done with my little rant...not sure its really a rant - I'm just - well, shocked and I guess I am part of an ever decreasing minority...us old folks who believed in marital fidelity - and would punch a guy in the face for using words like - fuck, pussy, asshole, dick, cock sucker...in the presence of our women and children.

Big sigh - getting weary. oh well....

Yeah, I agree advertising has gone too far. If someone wants to engage in a promiscuous lifestyle, that's their business. But I don't need that stuff in the middle of...well, anything. I guess decency and decorum are out of style.

exactly my point!

As Christianity is rejected and now persecuted, in many ways, evil flourishes.
There is no vacuum, in the spirit world, it is either Christ or the devil. When we turn away from God we are turning to satan.
Sin = see->desire->act. Best time to stop is when we "see" and turn away. Linger and you are gone.
The Bible tells us to take every thought captive and make it obedient to Christ Jesus.
When you recognize a thought that would not be please to God, say
"Holy Spirit of the Living god, take this thought captive and make it obedient to Christ"
The thought will be gone within seconds.
Blessings

Can't say I'm shocked to hear such, when you consider the kind of world we live in nowadays. No thanks, I'll pass, affairs are not for me. The vulgarity in television shows and movies these days appalls me to no end, small wonder why so many are sexually dysfunctional...

or self-possessed.
