Acknowledgement of his acting ability and fitness. He was first of all an entertainer as his antics in the ring were not real.
Except for that time when he fought Gorilla Monsoon, it went from a wrestling match into a street brawl. To this day, no one knows what that was all about after those two were never allowed in the same room together. Years later, they tried commentating a match, and a few minutes later, they were street brawling again, and the wrestlers in the ring were staring at it like, what the hell? They still did not say what their animosity toward each other was about.
Actors on daytime soap operas say it is the most difficult acting gig in Hollywood. Those actor/athletes on WWE are acting in an ongoing soap opera. Every episode is only partially scripted and the actors themselves are expected to ad lib the rest. These people in WWE are not only great at interpreting other people's writings, they're creative on the fly. Kudos to the members of WWE for their acting and creativity chops.
