For a brief overview of the Mormon views on Jesus and other things, they believe that Jesus was once a man who became exalted and turned into a God after doing many good deeds. ‘God the Father’ himself was also once a man on another planet, but because he likewise was such a good Mormon, he was granted the right to become a God over this earth.

Mormonism is merely a new spin on the ancient heresy of Arius. Arius taught that Jesus was a created being much like the angels, but with more of the powers of God in Him. The Mormons go a step further by claiming that before He was God the Son, Jesus was an ordinary man. this is the reason why the Eastern Orthodox Church considers the Latter Day Saints to not be Christian. In the Gospel, Jesus asks, "Whom do men say that I am?" And the Disciples gave a litany of answers. Then He asked, "Whom do you say that I am?" And Peter answered, "You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God." That one question has been the defining one for Christianity ever since. Fully half of the Creed of Nicea is spent on defining the person of Jesus.
