Rolling Stones’ to cancel ‘Brown Sugar’ after 50 years
The Rolling Stones will no longer perform their iconic song Brown Sugar amid concerns over references to slavery, rape and “black girls.”
Mick Jagger confirmed that the 1971 track has been removed from his tracklist for his US tour after its 50-year run.
“We’ve played with Brown Sugar every night since 1970, so sometimes you think we’ll take it out for now and see how it goes,” he told the Los Angeles Times. “We could put it back on.”
But his Rolling Stones teammate Keith Richards was quick to say that he “doesn’t understand” what “beef” is.
“Didn’t they understand that it was a song about the horrors of slavery? But they are trying to bury it. At the moment I don’t want to get into conflict with all this shit, ”said the 77-year-old.

Oh good grief. Then again, consider the source, Jagger is far-left in his political views, so guess that move isn't too out of the ordinary. I wonder what classic rock songs are going to be next?
