The U.S. can't deliver. The answers are obvious. Ditch the whole AUKUS deal and buy the German U-boats. The real reason for the deal might well have been the U.S. wish for a port and base in Australia from where it can send its own nuclear submarines to harass China.

The Aussies don't have the economy and thus the budget to buy boats from the Electric Boat Company or any other US submarine builder because these companies have gotten used to the "goose that lays the golden eggs." I do believe that the German option is better. They have learned to be as efficient in the manufacturing as they are in the engineering. So you won't see the cost overruns and time delays so common to US builders since the 1950s when acquisitions changed from the WWII model to the current one.
