The very best most accurate description of "climate change" that I have come across is "a hoax completely devoid of any scientific credible data whose purpose is to redistribute global wealth and to drive the population into compliance with the demands of a global ruling class"

It boils down to a battle of the “experts.” Which means the population as a whole is captive to the opinions of a few credentialed insiders; it’s difficult to analyze both the bases for the opinions and the foundation for the credentials. So there’s plenty of room for gaslighting.
