what could the Chinese Gov't possibly gain from that balloon?? What - you don't believe that China, like USA, Russia and many others use and or have access to spy satellites? Don't you suppose that by now the Chinese, the Russians, The Israelis, have full knowledge of the locations of our missile complexes, our Naval ports and movements...etc?
If there were any real mal-intent by the deployment of the balloon it must have been to learn how the Biden administration would respond to the violation of USA airspace. They learned a lot about that. They learned that Biden (or whoever is really pulling the strings in Washington DC) is weak, furtive, easily intimidated...
