Now this is a strange banner line. Why would Russia, if it is indeed Magog, take Israel's side on any issue against the express wishes of Russia's so-called "allies" Iran and Turkey who want to erase Israel off the face of the earth? Developments like this would surely stump prophecy buffs who are erroneously convinced that Russia is Magog. Pre WW2 bible commentaries like Unger's put this descendant of Japheth squarely on the Steps of Russia and not on Russia itself. The Russian Steps, you know, where you find the Turkic nations of Tajikistan, Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan etc.

Putin was the latchkey kid of two career KGB parents. He was taken in by a Jewish family for years and grew up with them. Because of this he is free from the endemic anti-semitism of Russian culture. I don't know what will happen when Putin dies.

He'd be a doddering old man if he survives til the Judgment of the Nations. But the real question is, does Russia or would any Russian have a view to change the world's times and laws (Dan 7:25) as we read in Daniel? Does Russia worship a "god of fortresses" or a god of war (Dan 11:38), and honor this god by waging war? We must pick up on these "here a little, there a little" clues God left for us in His word. Some people ignore these clues and hold them to non-effect because it contradicts the narrative they've already come to believe in.
Because we read that there is this "god of war" involved, we can safely assume that this involves a religious system.
