Were the 12 preaching Christ crucified?

Acts 18:24-26
"And a certain Jew named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man, and mighty in the scriptures, came to Ephesus. This man was instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in the spirit, he spake and taught diligently the things of the Lord, knowing only the baptism of John. And he began to speak boldly in the synagogue: whom when Aquila and Priscilla had heard, they took him unto them, and expounded unto him the way of God more perfectly."

Apollos was preaching the teachings of the Kingdom based on prophecy. Later, Aquilla and Priscilla expounded to him the way of God more perfectly, from the teachings Christ revealed to Paul through a mystery kept secret since the world began (Rom 16:25).

Luke 18:31-34
"Then He took unto Him the twelve, and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of man shall be accomplished. For He shall be delivered unto the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and spitefully entreated, and spitted on: And they shall scourge Him, and put Him to death: and the third day He shall rise again. AND THEY UNDERSTOOD NONE OF THESE THINGS: and this saying was hid from them, neither knew they the things which were spoken."

Were they preaching Paul's gospel of Christ crucified for our sins as revealed by Christ to him? No. They were preaching the gospel of the Kingdom promised by God to Israel (Deut 14:2; 26:19; 28:1).

As Minister to the circumcision, Christ was preaching faith plus the law to them as their means to salvation (Matt 5:17). When Paul says we are "saved by grace through faith without the deeds of the law," he was teaching new revelation from Christ (Rom 3:28), and this was revealed AFTER Israel rejected her Messiah in the book of Acts. One gospel is from prophecy, and the other based on the mystery revealed by Christ through Paul.

Galatians 2:7,10
"But contrariwise, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed unto me, as the gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter."

As you can see, there are two and not just one. Having this better-informed view, we can now read the doctrinal book of Romans with new eyes, and get past the seemingly confusing contradictions. Like the seeming contradiction between faith only and the faith + works teaching of James. With Paul's gospel, it is good works done in gratitude and love, no longer as a requirement for salvation, but as deeds done out of love and thanksgiving. Good works no longer a mandated requirement. Same with tithing. "For God loves a cheerful giver." Here's the difference between James' and Paul's teachings, which both came from Christ.
