Although I admire Sam Harris, he’s completely wrong here. This was social media virtue signalling and appeasement of the woke left at its worst. These are the same companies that dragged their feet on Palestinian videos demonstrating how to effectively kill your victim in knife attacks.
However, the left’s arguments that Trump was inciting violence, and that his speech to supporters that day was ill advised, make some valid points. Trump was receiving poor counsel or showing bad judgement from Election Day onwards.
sam is certainly incorrect on this point. but on this board theres is a particular antisemite that I have to wonder may be working to subvert the legitimacy of our dialogue by posting blatantly hateful rhetoric that discredits us all. an action like this follows the Obama doctrine on “discrediting decent” to a Tee by posting blatantly hateful rhetoric and antisemitic views adjacent to our generally even handed rhetoric allowing us all to be lumped up and dismissed
I don’t advocate for censorship and for now I stand with my principles, but I can see the potential damage being done to this community at the same time.
