Genuine question. When a person is trans and they say that they feel like a man in a woman’s body(or the other way around) .......how do they know what is feels like to be the opposite gender?

Great question! I am a transgender man (born female, transitioned to male). I do not "know what it feels like to be the opposite gender." That's not what it's like for me.

The best term I've heard and related to is "incongruence." Before I began taking testosterone, my body felt "incongruent" to my brain. The thing that relieves this incongruence is when I look like and am recognized as a male.

Your bio says you're a man, so imagine this for me: What if starting today, you were forced to take a pill that began to change your body. Your hips and thighs and butt will widen. You will develop breasts. Your voice will lighten, your beard will fall out. Everyone will begin to call you "ma'am." You have no say in this and you can't do anything to stop it. -- That's what gender dysphoria feels like.

I appreciate the response and I, in no way, wanted to short change or disregard any feelings you or anyone else who’s trans has. I have a really hard time seeing a difference between transitioning and conversion therapy. Again this is coming from a non trans male who rarely gets information on the issue that isn’t condescending or aggressive so I appreciate this tremendously

@Jonnkilgore777 Thank you! I don't feel short-changed or disregarded. You have been very polite and you do seem to have sincere intent. I appreciate that about you! I love talking to people just like you, who don't understand and seem to want to know more.

I have never heard a comparison between transition and conversion therapy. That is contradictory to my understanding of transition (and of conversion therapy). Can you explain that POV to me?

To explain my POV: I would consider it to be conversion therapy if I went to a therapist who tried to stop me from being trans or prevent me from transitioning.

If you have any questions for me, feel free to ask them. (You can send me messages too, if you want!) I will answer anything as honestly as I can.

Honestly this is the hardest thing for me to explain to anyone not trans. The word feel is used, at least by myself, because it is the easiest way to relate what it is.

I really wish I had better words for what gender dysphoria is. It's more like an innate sense. Things are wrong and you can't figure out what it is when you are young. As a child I just thought of myself as a tomboy. Puberty is where things just went off. Again feel is the closest concept I have to explain it but it isn't enough.

I hope that might help, if you have further questions please feel free to ask.

I THINK what they actually mean is "my body feels foreign to me:"

Posted by fthemediaI noticed with people who want to be the opposite sex as a trend or way of escape are mostly young girls aged 13-16, gay women with internalized homophobia, gay men with internalized homophobia, ...

Posted by fthemediaIs is horrible and sad that we live in a day and age where mental disorders are trendy and being a majority is demonized by the far left.
