One thing that really annoys me is how the "52 GeNdErS" thing is covered. What people say when they go over this is that Facebook/New-York/Canada officially or legally recognises 52 or whatever number of genders. Now what this means is some variant of "they let you change your formal identification to", "you can't be made unemployed because of" and "if you're in a position of power (like landlord or teacher) you have to recognise on documentation and in speech". For facebook its just pronouns on posts and a little few words on your profile.
I mean the whole enforcing speech thing is one argument but I'm not interested in that right now. I want to rant about "genders".
Here is a cross section of some of the terms on those lists:
>Trans Man
>Transgender Man
>Transsexual Man
>Cis Man
>Cisgenger Man.
>Cis
>Cisgender
>Trans
>Man
All of those, while they are all different in either subtle or distinct ways are (even under the 'wokest' definitions you can find) ONE SINGULAR GENDER. All of those are either Man or a Man could reasonably use those as words to describe himself dependant on his situation.
Likewise some of them include:
>Cross Dresser
>Drag Queen
>Drag King
THESE ARE NOT GENDERS THEY ARE THINGS THAT YOU DO. A Cross Dresser is a bit nuanced but the short version is someone who dresses as a gender they are not... but a Drag is a style of performance that anyone can be. A Drag Queen can be a Man, Woman, Trans or Cis.
So a reasonable reframing is "Gender Identity" in as much as they are "Identities that you can have that pertaining to your genderโ. In a similar way Lesbian could be considered a Gender Identity because its both a statement about your own gender and the gender to which you're attracted. By calling yourself a lesbian you are saying "I am a womanโ as much as you are saying "I like women", the same way calling yourself a trans woman you're saying "I am a woman" while also saying "I used not to be a woman". Although Gender Identity is also used to referenced ones own understanding of their own gender. So at the moment the term essentially has two meanings which is bad and confusing.
TL;DR - I wish people were more honest when they talked about this. The lists are stupid, but they are stupid for reasons that are far more nuanced and deeper than just "I dOn'T tHiNk ThErE aRe FiFtY tWo GeNdErS" because thats not what the lists claim. I'd love to hear your thoughts on all this and thank you for reading my rant
It is real ease, stand in front of a mirror, pull your pants down or skirt up, look in the MIRROR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If mind can't reconcile with the body it resides in, you should seek help to make mind come to terms with the biological reality, not to botch the body to fit the narrative of a deluded mind.
I mean I've seen you around and I kinda expected you to comment here. Our mismatch in ideals is so high that if it were a high five we would have accidentally slapped eachother in the face.
My point is not that what you say in this comment is right or wrong... but more can you see that the "52 gender list" thing is often put to you in a way that misunderstands the point. Can we agree, or at the very least can you see my point on that?
Why should people try to change their most likely unchangeable brain rather than their quite cleary changeable body?
Posted by fthemediaI noticed with people who want to be the opposite sex as a trend or way of escape are mostly young girls aged 13-16, gay women with internalized homophobia, gay men with internalized homophobia, ...
Posted by fthemediaIs is horrible and sad that we live in a day and age where mental disorders are trendy and being a majority is demonized by the far left.
