LINK Facebook survey asked users if pedophiles should be able to ask kids for 'sexual pictures'
A couple of minutes’ thought suffices to reveal the full horror of what’s going on within Facebook and of the thinking of the company’s employees.
According to the article, FB has apologised for the survey by saying it could have been better designed and that one of the questions was “a mistake”.
This makes it sound like some minion was asked to design the survey, it was cursorily glanced at by his superior and passed for publication. Well, if that’s what happened, that’s plenty bad enough already, but as someone who has spent 30 years of his career in market research, designing and carrying out surveys for major multinationals, I can tell you that, unless FB is actually being run entirely by primary school children, this is not how it happens. How it happens is that someone, or more likely a small team, is given a fairly detailed brief and tasked to design a user survey. They then present the first draft to their superior(s) - there is almost certainly more than one more senior reviewer - after which they go back and redraft. This may go on through several redrafts until a version is arrived at that is sufficiently polished to present to senior management, and I can guarantee you that senior management is involved in approving all major user surveys, particularly now that FB is haemorrhaging users to alternative uncensored platforms.
So think about this. These questions, which you and I, and anyone else other than an actual pedophile, would consider it utterly unconscionable even to think about asking, have gone through this entire review process and all of these layers of management, without raising sufficient objection to be struck out of a survey destined to be sent out to untold thousands of users.
What does that tell you about Facebook’s corporate culture and the mindset of its employees?
(I know what it tells me.)

FB has a notoriety for publishing things in order to “evoke” certain reactions and responses. They have been busted for it before, an experiment, a social engineering for structuring peoples feelings and thoughts. I believe this has been going on for a long time, part of their AI program. I don’t have specific examples at hand but do remember reading about it a couple times over the last few years. It’s part of their “influencer” program. After all, capture the minds of your minions, control elections, the direction of society and secure your market of control and power.

What a crock of $hista! Every minor company (forget one as large as Facebook) has a team of people working on surveys, which must be signed off on. They knew exactly what the questions were before they put it out there!

Facebook is utterly without moral foundation. I generally expect little of anyone still on it, and I tend to consider them not likely to engage in intelligent conversation.

There are plenty of good people on the platform still. I know and have met, and become friends with some myself, though I left FB a few months ago.
There are none whatever, on this evidence, in the company itself.
