I love Canada. Not the government but quiet, clean, seems quite free. Beautiful. Not sure what you all didn't like.
Seems to me there's good and bad(perhaps) about socialism.
I don't find Canadians venture forth much. I know I don't and seems Americans do, and it can work well. But often doesn't, I've heard.
I think Canadians aren't risk takers.
But what I love is the pedestrian safety crossings, eg. compared to other places, eg. Like Mexico.

I even drove down the south eastern coast of Costa Rica, AKA the No Man Zone!!!

@A1fredo What's wrong with Mexico ? Canada is not what you may think it is.... I was raised in northern Quebec.... in a town where there was (and still is) 25 feets of snow a year..LOL.... I know you can't even imagine how it could be... I did l,ive 10 years in Texas. I know how hot it can be where you are.

Sadly, a girl I know from Mexico came here to the beautiful west coast of Canada recently, and guess what? She does nothing but bitch relentlessly — especially on FB — about how racist, classist, and tough life is here.

I see this more and more in some immigrants. They are welcomed into the richest, freest, and safest countries on earth, and see nothing but darkness. Why did they leave their countries, communities and families? Why do they stay here?

It gets really tiresome when people think that with working hard and great attitude you can make money here, as if it were the first world. No matter how much you explain it, they just haven't experienced it and can't grasp the fight or flight response to the very real chance of death by starvation, as that is not a metaphor here. Somehow, when talking about living standards, it somehow seems to immediately become some sort of tournament to see who is worse. Poor people in America would be the Mexican middle class. @RemiDallaire . As A Former Michigander, and I did not leave because of the snow, but the Humid 104o Summers, with swarms of bugs that would eat you alive! I never had a car, or a house, always Apartments 2nd floor at least, and enjoyed requests to be pushed out of the ditch! Always walk, Dress like an Eskimo, and Never shovel. You too will love snow, white sparkling quiet white snow.....ahahahaha. Walking to school in 20o below was the best! And Ice storms. Diamonds every where. How can you not like snow? Skiing, ice skating, Hockey! yeah.Ice Hockey and guys with no teeth, and penalty boxes for the mayhem. Oh, Canada....say you love some parts of snow.....l

@RemiDallaire The very first thing I want to know is what the Rattler Doesn't like! I have never lived in the South. Visited, a couple of times.....I like to bath only under an indoor shower.
Another reason for snow and Freeeeeezing cold.....snakes freeze too! The snow buries them. Walk as softly as you like! when stalking the Buck. Deer jerky. No rattle-snakes on the barbecue...Phew....
