I'm currently watching the belated opening day baseball game between the Chicago Cubs and the Milwaukee Brewers. Although I had to endure a preachy opening that insulted me by telling me how racist my country is and how I need to care about black lives (as if I don't care about black lives and there is no way I could possibly care about black lives unless they told me to), I was nevertheless glad to see that there was no one kneeling during the National Anthem. Had I seen that, I would not have continued to watch now or for the rest of the season. I endured the politicization of opening day, but if they continue to make the opening of games going forward about BLM, I will stop watching altogether, just as I have done with the NFL and the NBA. I don't tune into sports for divisive politics or to be insulted. What say you all?
By the way, "Go, Cubs, go!" (For now, and I hope for the rest of the season)

I think I will watch Ice Hockey. .They are on their knees or not most of the time and besides who knows with all that padding. Smile for the camera, Boys! And Horse racing, the horses and Jockey never get ideas! And the off road bike races. Cage sports.....I am not quite there yet! I morn Football. And Baseball, good watching and listening on the radio, on a summer day...good days.

It’s sad to see how woke progressives are working overtime in Canada to racialize the National Hockey League.
It’s common now to regularly hear that hockey is “too white”, although only 22% of the country is visible minority. The other line of attack on hockey — due to the expense of equipment and rink time — is that it’s an “elitist” sport only open to the children of the rich.
The low point was two years ago when a bus load of young players was slammed by a transport truck, killing sixteen, and severely injuring 13 more. Canada grieved from coast to coast. One woke writer said racist Canadians only felt bad because the young victims were male and white.
@GeeMac crazy stuff. Been around hockey most of my life. A few pretty good black players, only one that played a bit in the NHL. All the black kids I knew just didn’t like it.. they especially didn’t like the cold.
Saw an article about the NHL and their bullshit “outreach” program. If they’re serious, they’ll try to diversify the NBA and the NFL, quite a few blocks in those sports, IIRC.
UFC is good stuff. AFAIK, Dana White is no social justice wanker.. and there’s no room for fucking around in the cage. Bellator isn’t bad, either.
I stopped watching MLB for the most part because although I love the game, today's players are a bunch of preening prima donnas. NBA lost me 20 years ago, and I'm most likely going to pass on the NFL this year due to their decision to play the black national anthem. We have one anthem, and it's for all people. Stop dividing us.

@Header Well, there really isn't a "black national anthem." Some Leftists BLM types are trying to say there is, and they are trying to ram it down our throats with the implied (or sometimes explicitly stated) charge that we are racists if we don't want to accept it. But I don't think most of us will accept such a divisive notion.
I say that professional sports is just another kind of pornography that has backward engineered the corruption of college and high school sports. Perhaps sports has always been on this arc in America but these days it seems to have reached it's zenith of self-importance. I have always held hope baseball would not succumb to it but I fear it may just come to that. And yeah "Go Cubs!"
