She’s fluent in stupid.
Hmm ... Melania actually spoke very excellent English. Her grammar, syntax, and vocabulary were spot on. She just happens to speak excellent English with a Slovenian accent. Apparently Bette Midler herself doesn't know English well enough to know when it's spoken well. That is what her comment would suggest anyway.
If she was trying to be funny rather than serious with her comment, then it shows she is not really ignorant of the nuances of her own language; she's just mean.

Dressing up in a cod military designer fatigues, standing on a podium in front of the stars and stripes, and totally exaggerating her accent to sound more Russian. @johnlondon yep, if I remember correctly, Michelle said she was never proud to be an American until her husband was elected. Both Obama’s had thinly veiled contempt for all things American, which explains their god-like status among leftists.
Remember how they were mad when Tucker Carlson easily mispronounced Kamala Harris's name? "Oh it's because it's not a typical American name, you must be racist"
Where are they to condemn this conduct when making fun of her accent, clearly because this is not her first language. I've tried learning another language (German) and I would hate it if someone made fun of me for my accent within that language. Bette wouldn't like it either but that's the game of Liberal hypocrisy.
