Scott Adams explains the state of the pandemic.

Once again liberals lose because they don't have a philosophy of science. Now that the World Health Organization opposes lock downs the selfish nature of the liberal elites is fully exposed.

From the very beginning I have been arguing that protecting yourself from the virus was a luxury for the affluent and intellectually competent. The very people who are supposed to lead their communities. One look at how WWI decimated the British upper class shows how the elites at one time actually picked up the burden of leadership. To be a leader you have to get into the trenches and expose yourself to the same risks you expect the deplorable essentials to endure.

The lockdowns I still feel were very effective in flattening the curve, alleviating hospitals that were/ could be overwhelmed, and helped put a seriousness to health precautions.

For two weeks.

After that, a lot of people (including myself) began questioning the inconsistencies in the health saftey measures. There were PPE shortages in hospitals, so most people fashioned their own masks out of bandanas and rags. Retail stores were essential, yet masks mandates varied state by state so I wasn't sure exactly what I was supposed to do. Plus, did only N95 masks work? Can you get it with your eyes exposed? 6 feet enough distance? Just a lot of questions, and not much direction.

The lockdowns became laughable when mass protests happened, and were allowed because they were "essential". Yet, churches, restaurants, and other places not following mandates were held accountable. At this point, 120+ days into protests, it's ridiculous. I'm not saying I believe this proves lockdowns don't still make a difference. They just don't make sense.

I was pretty suprised when I heard Chris Christie was out of the hospital. For all the reasons said in the video.

I also do wonder if a Democrat was president during all this, what Republicans reactions would be. I don't think MSM has been fair to Trump, yet they're not hiding their left leaning bias. Meanwhile, FOX was more times than naught overly critical of Obama. Just saying.

The worst aspect in all this has got to be the "us" vs "them" flow of information. It's about health, which shouldn't be political yet somehow is. I'm least happy with MSM though, because I believe they helped divide the country more fiercely. When we are in crisis, we need a united front.

Apparently this being an election year, that would just make Trump look too good if MSM and Democratic politicians chose to take the high ground and stopped faulting his every move. Instead of rolling up their sleeves, on both sides, and doing the work together begrudgingly, our politicians chose to make a virus as one of the central issues in debate.

I could care less how much better Democrats could have done. They lost my vote because they refuse to stop looking down on a solid half of the population. They call them "white supremacists", "deplorables", and "racists", while marching in the streets and turning a blind eye when buisnesses get looted, vandalized, and burned down.

Also, I personally talk to my doctor about my health, not politicans. I find it rather stupid Pelosi wants me to trust her with my health instead of Trump, because I don't take medical advice from either one of these two. What I need from my leaders, is advice and reassurance that they are doing all they can. Currently Trumps leading on that front for me.

My point is that for people like me and most professionals the lockdown didn't destroy our lives. It was a major inconvenience that could effect our investments and certainly ruined our social lives but we didn't lose everything we spent decades building like some small businesses. More importantly one look at the poverty rate in California and how the poor go to malls for the air conditioning they can't afford at home destroys the caring narrative that the Democrats project. Poor people in my neighborhood have been devastated by the lock downs because many are part time workers. They also never complied with social distancing because of culture. So they are both poorer and sicker. Something liberal elites cannot understand.

I'm disappointed that Trump did not embrace wearing masks as much as he could have. I would have looked to South Korea as an example. Still the narrative that Trump ignored the pandemic rings hollow. From the beginning he placed the policy decisions on the Governors and local officials. He then told the Governors and local officials he would offer them any federal assistant they requested. It looks like their hatred of Trump got in the way of serving their citizens.

The one thing that drove me crazy was the states that chose to criticize Trump heavily, yet not recognize the value of having control of their own state, as well as not recognize combined efforts. NYC for example, their more stricter mandates made a lot more sense than that of a more countryside area in upstate NY. Being able to weigh the balance should have been better understood by the political leaders of the state.

When Democrats and Republicans are seen working together to solve a common problem, they gain a considerable amount of greater trust between all citizens. It is a two way street, however. I think if Trump had done a two simple things, like wear a mask and not speaking badly of Democrats, he could have given off a better attitude. Likewise if Pelosi held off on talking negativity about Trump, and put politics aside for a moment, she could have appeared to be putting the peoples best interest ahead of the party.

To be honest, I'm not entirely happy with the way both Trump and Pelosi handled themselves. I don't fault anyone for COVID besides China. However, the fact we can't come together in a time of crisis is not good, and needs to change.

@wolfhnd Gee, Don't you get it yet? No proof a mask does a dam thing.

@johnlondon

There is no proof Trump isn't a Russian asset. We live in a world of uncertainty. Often we are forced to weigh logic more heavily than evidence.

The libs would love it if they could protect all super minority groups and not those pesky patriotic Americans aka deplorables.

The idiocy of promoting a class divide is on full display.

If the bleeding heart liberals would move back into and disperse throughout the inner cities the worst of the inner city problems would quickly disappear.

Those who do not suffer the consequences of their policies are unlikely to make good policy.
