The Left do have sensible people and Conservatives, who see Unions as useful and some Welfare policies as a positive, but see the rest on the nonsense as simply nonsense. Many workers per se have much more common-sense than the elitist globalist University educated academics. Many are not and never will be socialists.
They also would never involve their children in politics...

I don't see welfare or unions as positive, since both are not libertarian ideals, they are the by product of Marxist socialists world view. Wealtfare is about paying people not to work and using other working people's money to do it. Easy to abuse. And unions are about as marxist as you can get "workers of the world unite". Off course tyranny and corruption of unions is well known. The works think the union leaders are there for the works, while the union leaders see it as factory inside the factory. A way to be in charge of workers and use is as leverage. That is why mafia likes to own unions so they can blackmail companies and government.
