did Fox really just bring uo a rise in suicide and depression and citing all the closures the last year being the reason why? Did they really just say closing schools was harmful to children because they get so much social and enotional growth from actual human interaction. woooooooooow if only anyone had suggested this could be a problem. and Cuomo just said NY needs to start reopening because the economy needs to come back deapite Covid clearly not going away. again, if only ANYONE had suggested this crazy idea before.

The problem with the US is you let it get too bad too soon and now there is no easy path out of it.

yup “alot” of Covid death now but even more as a result of lockdowns later who could have seen it coming.
and unlike Covid there is no vaccine for rising depression and feelings hopelessness snd suicide. you don't easilly get back the lost personal developmen. you don't get back those lost sales.

@Lightman in addition to the higher Suicide rates there has been a huge increase in substance abuse, witch has led to deaths now and will continue to cause deaths for several years to come. There have also been deaths caused from people not seeking treatment or unable to get treatment for unrelated problems.

Faults in you hospital system are not due to lockdowns per se.
Substance abuse is a personal choice.

Apparently suicide rates in Australia and the US remain unchanged.
Don't believe the propaganda.
No one likes being told what to do etc, but no sane person will commit suicide during a lockdown because they are limited in what they can do.

Here are two links I found with a quick search the substance abuse is something I have seen several coworkers struggle with first hand since the shutdowns. Regarding the Covid deaths a large portion of them likely would have died shortly from their co-morbidity factors.
