The left wants to create the impression that the right owes them something (reparations), and the left dehumanizes the right, endorsing violence against the right.
Intolerant leftist crybabies create the impression that Trump wronged them and that they deserve payback. They want to punish people who voted for Trump.
Why?
In case of secession. The right feels they have the right to secede and live separately from leftists, in peace. This is conservatism. The left won't leave the seceded states in peace and they'll concoct excuses to invade.
Also, the left consists of out-of-control mobs. Even if Biden were to hypothetically declare peace between left and right, leftists mobs will commit atrocities to provoke war.
Kenosha was invaded and sacked by an organized mob of big-city violent leftists. There will be more Kenoshas.
Conservatives feel that socialism should be voluntary. If everyone votes for socialism, then do it. If only half vote for it, then don't do it. Conservatives feel that forced socialism is evil. Leftists feel that anyone who is not socialist is evil.
Democrats are passing intolerable acts that will force secession.
There are many more irreconcilable differences between right and left.
The left is engaged in socioeconomic war against the right.
Physical war is inevitable.

But there are many peaceful steps we can take now, and some are pretty concrete.
One is to support the Texas National Movement [tnm.me] This is a movement with a long time horizon that seems to be steadily gaining ground over the years. On a shorter time horizon there are specific individual politicians like Kyle Biedermann [facebook.com] Biedermann has introduced legislation to allow the residents of Texas to express their opinion on independence in a referendum. There's a very short report about the current state of this bill in the Texit Times: [texittimes.com]
Of course there are movements in other states as well; these should be supported even if we absolutely would not want to live in the successor states they have in mind: each state or county or region that can secede from the empire reduces the scale of the problems for those remaining.
