I am aware of this argument, but the way I have heard it presented is that the tax on earnings above $29K/yr - and to be fair, I've heard other numbers - is not an income tax, but a flat tax to pay for nationalized medicine.
So the argument about tax brackets would not apply if the version I heard is correct.

I haven't done the maths myself, but reading the fine print in the tweet, it looks like that was accounted for.
The argument appears to be that the person in the fine print is arguing that Charlie Kirk doesn't understand how tax brackets work, that you wouldn't actually pay 52% tax.
What I'm saying is that I'd read a version where a flat tax - meaning everyone would pay the same amount, irrespective of income - to subsidize national healthcare, would be paid in ADDITION to your income tax, which would bring the tax burden to someone making $29K, to an effective 52% Federal tax burden.
In other words, Sanders was only lobbying for $15/hr as a means to implement a national healthcare tax.
Sorry for the confusion.
