The figure has gone up every year except 2019 when it dropped by about 800. You think the provisional number is correct and final when it is almost 3000 less than 2019. It would appear that lockdowns are a healthy alternative when it comes to suicide. The mental health field will be devastated to hear the news. If anything they would be the ones promoting higher numbers.

So... where is the "provisional" data source that all of the Right-Wingers used to claim non-stop that people where committing suicide at an alarming rate much deadlier than the virus, all due to lockdowns? Surely there must be some "provisional" study they used to base their talking points on... they weren't just making up stories to support their narratives, now were they?

@JacksonNought My narrative? I'm a classical liberal. I would be against Marxism and tyranny as well as lockdowns. If the left is going to say lockdowns are bad, I'm not going to disagree. I'm inclined to think the Mental health field wants some of that pandemic money from Biden. Statistics be damned.

@Naomi that’s my point, in most cases you’ll find conflicting reports on just about everything. This report claims to be from the CDC who has already admitted to being incorrect on a number of reports, assuming it’s actually from them.

You'll never know. I bet when the final number comes in for 2020, not the provisional number, the data will never be posted. And I do believe that the numbers for covid include a few suicides since there was a higher remuneration to hospitals for covid deaths..... or at least I have been led to believe that.
