@JacksonNought Yes, it is always great to expose total hypocrites of whatever political persuasion. The MSM was really consistent in their treatment of Melania to their credit. No hypocrisy there. A splendid display of out and out hatred. However, I must call out any ignored commentary for the stylings of the current first lady as slightly hypocritical in comparison.

MSM never complained about Melania's outfits in general. Sure, there was the odd "that looks weird" kind of commentary, but nothing different than typical celebrity cattiness. Serious journalists and media personalities never questioned if she was degrading the office or being "un-presidential" with her outfits. The only time it was an issue was when she went to visit the border wall wearing an outfit that said "I don't really care, do u?" - something she admitted she wore for political reasons, and is pretty bad optics.

Compare that to Right-Wing media freaking out over Biden's stockings, calling her trashy, etc.

It didn't matter what Melania did she was criticized for it. Can't get away from that. The fawning praise for Michelle Obama was quite a contrast to the criticism of Melania. The display of hatred in the media was unprecedented. Why did she wear a jacket that said, "I really don't care. Do u?" Could it have had anything to do with the consistent bad press for anything she did or wore? Serious journalists and media personalities never questioned if she was degrading the office? Are you kidding me? If they didn't question it then it was because they didn't have the guts to do so outright, they just implied it. Find me one positive thing the MSM said about her that wasn't meant as a joke?

And of course, news about Dr. Jill's outfit is "the right-wing media freaking out". You are forgetting about the 4 years that the media was actually freaking out about Melania or purposely ignoring her great taste in fashion - anything to slight her.

Pamela Karlan merely references Barron Trump in a statement about Donald's grandious superiority complex, it is the height of despicableness and she must be ashamed and apologize for being so classless. Rush Limbaugh compares Chelsea Clinton to a dog and calls her ugly, give that man a Medal of Freedom!

Of course it depends on what kind of "attacks" we are talking about. There is a big difference in criticizing clothes vs criticizing politics. For example, criticizing Melania for running a "Be Best" anti-bullying campaign while her husband is the biggest and loudest bully is not a superficial petty criticism. Trying to equate Michelle wanting kids to be healthier and have better lunches with fascism is superficial and petty and dishonest. Criticizing Melania's Christmas decorations is petty. Criticizing Obama's drone strikes isn't petty. Criticizing Donald Trump for eating fast food and wearing ill-fitting suits is petty, and criticizing Barack Obama for putting mustard on a burger and wearing a tan suit is petty.

Now, I do not believe in "slut-shaming" and think it is extremely inappropriate to dredge up Melania's past in regards to nude modeling or potential sex-work. However, it is extremely hypocritical when the party of "strong family values" and "Christian morals" turns a blind eye to all of that while attacking Michelle for wearing a sleeveless dress. It's also extremely hypocritical for people beat their chests trying to defend Melania and saying she should be above criticism, while turning around and making up lies that Michelle is trans and really a man and Barack is gay.

Donald Trump could be a bully. You don't like that he has the tenacity to stand up to bullying. Be nice to him and he will be nice right back. Act like Jim Acosta and he will bully you right back. You just don't like the fact that he doesn't cower to the bullying he got for 4+ years from the media, Hollywood elite, the intelligence community, Adam Schiff and Nancy Pelosi deserve special mention among Dems, and the RINOs. He left still standing after the onslaught of resistance to his trying to drain the swamp.

I find it quite a stretch to call his standing up to what he faced as being a bully. But hey, I can see how you could twist it that way if that is what you want to see. The bullying Melania got was unprecedented. Not much was said about Michelle until she started complaining about "America".
Her campaign regarding school lunches was very sanctimonious and smacked of do-good, know-best government coerciveness than anything constructive. Naturally it was pilloried and eventually failed in the same fashion as Eleanor Roosevelt's social engineering efforts to bring socialism to America.
