The woke in our society:

The problem as I see it is that we approach the acolytes of the secular pseudoreligion of critical theory - race, feminism and social justice - as though these people are acting on logic that can be reasoned with. Millenials and Gen-Z have been conditioned (manipulated) for years to surrender liberties for safety/security, for convenience (society at large has fallen prey to this as well but that's another conversation to broach), for relief of isolation related to the breakdown of the family unit, the loss of the tight knit community, the loss of individual identity versus group dependence, failure to mature into adulthood which results in sustained infanthood that requires the incessant need for validation from anonymous persons/groups online and the loss of civil communication when anonymity reduces inhibition so people feel free to attack and demean others, etc. Think patriot act (the war on terror) and the acceptance of invasive tecnologies such as smartphones, smart TVs, smart-appliances, alexa, etc they've grown up with. This militantly illiberal ideology meets these people's need for meaning and moral purpose in a post-Christian or one might say a more moral based society. They see their expenditures and their activist mania for diversity, inclusion and equity as part of creating a progressive socially conscious personal brand of identity. They have been taught (especially in college) to bring their social justice ideals and advocacy with them into the workplace to enforce corporate social responsibility. Their academic victimology divides humanity into groups of good or evil, informs how they view the world and how society must be compelled to participate in realizing the remaking of the world into their imagined utopia. Technology and its ubiquitous presense in our lives 24/7 reinforces the messaging of critical theory and magnifies the intensity and need for the woke congregants to apply more pressure to society to conform utilizing any means necessary be it censorship, cancel culture, mostly peaceful protests (riots), etc.They do not see their acts as supporting a soft totalitarianism but as necessary to bring about the singularity, the transformation of humanity and as saving the planet from the ravages of humanity. They do not recognize humans as individuals with rights but as genderless groups that serve progress. What that progress is remains to be seen. They are blind to the dangers inherent in the mob rule of democracy but neither did their heedless predessors.Their acts are not based on rational logic. Their acts are based on their beliefs in the dogma which defines them and therefore will not be reasoned away no matter how illogical they appear to others. That said, those that disagree with them have two choices, 1) bend the knee and support them to protect yourself, your job and your family, live with the cognitive dissonance and hope they will not find something in your past that will result in your being found guilty, your expulsion and whatever punishment they decide to impose 2) define your truth, choose not to live their lie by refusing to support them, form communities with others that are like minded and working towards retaining rights and liberty and accept the responsibility of the consequences associated with that choice. Neither choice will be easy.
