There are more than 3 MILLION people who are not scared of COVID. . . because they are currently dead. But, hey, if we keep it up, could we manage the 50 MILLION who died of the Spanish flu before a vaccine was invented.

3 million eh? can you verify that number and can you objectively attribute that 3 million deaths to the virus? There is no question that there have been many deaths falsely attributed to COVID causation.
IF (and that's a big "if" ) you can give solid evidence of 3 million covid deaths then you should also be able to tell us how many (both in raw number and percentage of total deaths) were over the ages of 80, 70, 60, 50.
Also how many of those in the set of "3 million" had co-morbid conditions that made them less likely or less able to survive the infection?
Aside from advanced age (over age 65) co-morbid conditions would include things like:
emphysema, obesity, life long history of smoking, diabetes, asthma, and a host of other diseases that grossly weaken the bodys' ability to fight off upper respiratory infections. Cancer, liver disease, kidney disease, heart disease all would qualify as co-morbid conditions.
It's become political because we are engaged in a cold civil war. One side is exaggerating the effects of the virus and the other discounting them. I wasn't afraid of the vaccine so I got it. I wasn't particularly afraid of the virus. There is imply no reason to be afraid of something when you have done everything you can to avoid it. The tricky part is in deciding what everything you can means. Clearly it can't mean destroying the economy or allowing civil liberties to be abused. The question is how many of the 3 million did everything they could and what public policies would have been better.
