Seems like we see the light at the end of the tunnel with the pandemic and are getting back to normal. It didn't just "magically go away" like the former guy claimed. So sounds like a success to me.

The left also downplayed the seriousness of the pandemic in the early days. Hell, the WHO themselves spread CCP lies that person-to-person transmission was not happening when it actually was. How was Trump supposed to do the right thing with the wrong information?

In fact, Trump stopped travel from China (the location of the initial outbreak) when the left were calling him racist for it. The Democrats at the time encouraged people to crowd together into Chinatown in a show of solidarity against a supposedly "racist" president. Trump introduced Operation Warp Speed, which got a vaccine developed and approved for use much faster than it otherwise would have been. Trump got private businesses to refocus their operations to help produce medical supplies. Trump supplied Navy hospital ships to assist in the worst-affected regions, and Democrat leaders in those areas turned down his offers of assistance. Trump did about as well as could have been expected with the information that was available to him.

Public health is primarily a state responsibility. How did the states go? Democrat-run states did the worst, and even put known positive cases into nursing homes together with the most vulnerable people (while pulling their own relatives out of nursing homes, by the way).

And so when the WHO and CDC learned more information about the virus, they updated recommendations and guidelines. They were able to admit being incorrect. Trump took a hard line stance from the beginning and refused to waiver. Trump repeatedly claimed he knew more about science than actual scientists, encouraged people to ignore the guidelines, hosted super spreader events which killed people (like Herman Cain), mocked his political opponent for following guidelines, and of course said "it is what it is" to half a million people dying. When one person had Ebola on Obama's watch, Trump said that Obama should apologize and resign. With Covid on his watch, Trump changed his tune and said he took no responsibility.

Regarding the travel ban, well first off Covid was already here. And second, Trump's ban wasn't absolute - it was only banning Chinese people from entering the US, not American citizens coming from China or other exceptions. It was purely based on racism and not actually trying to stop the virus.

Trump helped during the virus? I remember him refusing to let a ship dock because he didn't want the numbers to go up. I also remember him accusing nurses of stealing PPE and lying about needing them, blocking much needed equipment. And then of course the fact that he refused to give relief money to blue states because they were "mean" to him, and he and Kushner were fine with letting some people die. Oh, and let's not forget when Pfizer or Moderna asked his administration if they wanted to purchase millions of doses of the vaccine, he passed on the opportunity.

@JacksonNought The WHO is still covering for the CCP, and the swampy CDC has always looked more like it was more focused on opposing Trump than following science. Fauci and friends weren't much better, though some of them (including Fauci) did defend Trump against false claims from the media that Trump wasn't following their recommendations.

The CDC have updated their guidelines and brought them closer to Trumpian and Republican policies... now that Trump is out of office. It's also funny how lab-leak theory is suddenly back on the table now that Trump is out of office! As for the "super spreader" events, is there any definitive proof that Herman Cain contracted COVID at such an event, and not somewhere else? Is there data showing a notable and otherwise unexpected spike in cases around the venues in an appropriate timeframe following the events?

What about the super spreader events that were Democrat states, like New York and Michigan, FORCING nursing homes to take in people who were KNOWN to have COVID-19 to live in the same facilities as vulnerable elderly Americans? What about Gretchen Whitmer pulling her own mother out of a nursing home when she gave that order?

As for "It is what it is." That was a true statement, was it not? It was what it was, and Democrats played a significant role in making it what it was. Would you have preferred Trump engage in Democrat-style pandemic politicization and point out that fact as part of his answer?

I am not sufficiently informed on the Ebola affair to comment on it. I take it that's okay, seeing the subject is COVID-19.

Regarding the travel ban - COVID was already where? In China? That's kind of the point. USA? That's no reason to refuse to take reasonable measures to reduce the number of people coming in from a known hotspot and bringing more of the virus. You don't have to deny citizens their inherent right to enter their own country in order to make progress against the virus. Non-citizens have no such inherent right to enter USA, so it is not just acceptable, but reasonable and responsible to deny entry to non-citizens via a known hotspot. It was a national biosecurity measure based on citizenship. It was not based on race, and is therefore not racist.

There is more to a responsible pandemic plan than just eliminating the virus as quickly as possible at any cost. A responsible administration must also consider citizens' rights and their mental and emotional wellbeing, as well as the economy. Certain health and financial assistance measures from the government can be warranted in emergency situations. It must be done carefully. With the current Bidenflation, USA could go the way of Venezuela if they're not careful! That could kill more Americans than COVID-19.

As for the claims in your last paragraph, please link sources so I can familiarize myself with them and do my own research.

It's also hard to fail when you are given millions upon millions of dollars by your father, and refuse to pay your debts, and just exploit people with fraudulent schemes... but he did it anyway. Yes, he did make money off of the presidency - you are right, he "didn't fail" at exploiting the presidency for his own personal wealth. But he did fail at actually being a president and improving the nation.

I love being an American. That doesn't mean I can't call it out when it fails and advocate for it to be better. Yes, I have been outside of the US plenty of times, and have never had any issues being free.

As a straight cis white male, I have most certainly had less disadvantages than other groups, and I have a pretty good privileged lot in life. Can't quite say the same for people whose intergenerational wealth was restricted due to redlining or having their entire city razed to the ground in Tulsa. Food for thought.

Societies evolve and change usually for the better on their own. When government engineers it the individual loses. What is it you want? To be accepted as normal? You are forever going to be rejected. You might as well accept that. Find a circle of like-minded friends and enjoy yourselves. You can do that. Instead you insist on destroying the status quo. There is nothing wrong with change but if you expect everyone to bow to your view of how your uncompromising society should be I think you are setting yourself up for quite a bit of hardship. I believe Christians use Christ just to annoy Jews. To Jews, Christ was a false prophet - a charlatan who broke the most important Commandments of God. Maybe he was actually the devil, influencing people to turn their back on Judaism so he could doom generations of people. The Christians know this, yet they still choose an idol that is offensive to Jews. That is their main purpose it seems.

Offending Christians is only a byproduct of Satanism, but hey I consider it an added bonus. It shows the outright hypocrisy of Christians hiding behind freedom of religion to skirt laws and discriminate, but then try to ban Satanists from being allowed the same rights. And when we're speaking of offending people, I'd consider which is more offensive: having a figurehead which one or two religions consider a bogeyman, while preaching love and altruism and freedom; or, working tirelessly to deny gay people legal rights in a pluralistic society, sending them to conversion camps to receive electric shock torture, and disowning children and throwing them out on the streets. I know which I find more offensive.
