BLUF: Bottom line: Caution and Precautions are the words of the day.

The article seems pretty well written. It seems to cover some pros and cons. They have anticipated and answered some of the big questions and apprehensions of the reader, which is good.

Now there were a couple of big concerns I noticed along with the many they addressed.

1. Look who is involved and note the motives that historically drive them.
   A) Anything connected with Bill Gates should be questioned and investigated extremely well, and never fully trusting.
   B) A conservative state trying to cozy up to a LEFTIST agenda is understandable (when leftists are in power), but a cause for concern and apprehension. I just hope they have exit strategies and decision points where they can exit the agreement with minimal cost to the taxpayer and consumer.

2. This will be a shared venture. That means it is a wonderful opportunity for the bazillionaires to bilk both the taxpayer (for the building costs) and the consumer for continued use of what may become the monopoly supplier. Once the government has invested a butt-load of taxpayer dollars, they will be “bought in” to sticking with this option even if it becomes an albatross around the necks of those they represent.

As traditionally executed, bazillionaires will have all the leverage to take in lots of profits indefinitely and little incentive to ensure the consumer is getting the best bang for the buck. They will also carry little or no risk of loss and reserve that for the government and those they represent. The government is notorious for making bad deals in good faith and just trusting the industry experts within the corporate world (with whom they are partnering) to write the contracts. Those contracts always indemnify the company and leave the government/taxpayer/consumer holding the bag.

Now, having said all that, this situation has potential (if properly handled with safeguards in place) for upside AND downside equity. However, this would require the government rep to demand and contract synergy rather than the government norm of compromise and capitulation.

Let me see, is this a Dem or Rep backed plan? Are the people going to start a revolution to take back the future, or are they going to be defined by the new free DNA they got from Gatez?
Is there any hope for the future of humanity or are we paving the road to hell?

Our next major global catastrophe will be nuclear leaks everywhere? Prices jacked up on power on a whim? This is not a world I want to leave fore my grandkids
