WATCH TO THE END - Why has our society acted as it has, upending the rule of law, suspending civil liberties, embracing authoritarian rule and disarming democracy? These difficult questions can be best answered in understanding our human nature. We are social creatures, and our actions are greatly influenced by the collective actions of those around us. A frightened human society can become a mob and act very much like a frightened herd in a stampede.

Feel free to reply to any comment by clicking the "Reply" button.Our leaders do not seem perturbed at our crisis. After all they can dine, vacation, gather with relatives, etc,. all they want. But why aren't they perturbed and why do their policies seem to be failing? Because they aren't failing. Things are going as planned.
It's called "gaslighting". It isn't stupidity. It's a mendacious intent to destroy the current social structure in order to "build back better" from a central engineering authority. While the US (the Big Boss) has its attention introverted on its social affairs the same thing is happening in other western democratic nations. National sovereignty is soon to be a thing of the past as all other western nations, perhaps not Australia or India besides the US, has signed on and Biden is taking America there, signing back on to the Paris climate accord and using "science' as a whipping boy to lockdown the economy.
Corporatism is "woke". Wall St. and the market are no longer using traditional yardsticks to encourage investment. All the major investors, like pension plan managers, are catering to the new ESG (Environmental Social Government) corporate ratings devised around the buzz words - sustainability, climate financial disclosures, Carbon disclosure, global reporting initiatives, and more.
The well goes deeper than anyone could have imagined.
