When we follow your logic to its conclusion, CRT is just a dog whistle representing any aspirations for civil rights. The fact is that CRT is now being pushed everywhere, not just schools but all media and by devious politicians.

The point is that it does not matter the number of laws and the number of schools, it is a harmful doctrine that has no place in schools.

To the contrary, the civil movements of the past strongly opposed CRT. Remember Martin Luther King?

CRT was exactly what the founders of Apartheid used to justify it.

Is the US still segregated? Stop seeing race and teaching kids that race is important. And the racial prejudice will stop.

@Hanno I doubt you can even define CRT. The BLM activists in my community haven't even studied CRT. Most activists don't know what it is. How can that be anything but a dog whistle?

According to a conservative activist, CRT is being taught at hundreds of schools. [nypost.com] I'm sure he uses the dog whistle definition, but that is on the order of 100 compared to on the order of at least 1,000,000 children who are sexually abused by their teachers. For reference there are on the order of 10 states where state laws can be passed.

Not a moral panic. Not critical race theory. You all are bad with definitions.

Here's some history: this moral panic, and this conservative movement, grew out of the fight against desegregation in the US. They've been calling any push for civil rights for Black people communism since then. Never mind that their narrative took a big hit with the end of the Soviet Union. But it's hard to teach an old dog new tricks.

@JacksonNought at it's core, there's not much difference between extreme left and extreme right. They're more similar than different. In recent times, the left has gone more extreme, whilst the right has shifted a bit left and become more centre.
And historically, since the Russian revolution, the left have done more to erode civil rights than anyone else. That is a fact you're ignoring to play partisan politics.

The moral panic is over institutional racism for which there is little evidence.
