There is overwhelmingly enough food out there. If it isn't getting to the people, then there is a conspiracy.
America outperforms all other nations for farm productivity/km^2, and by a wide margin. If the rest of the world caught up to America, we could feed 10 times as many people.
Iowa outperforms all other American states for farm productivity/km^2, by a wide margin. If the rest of the states caught up to Iowa, America could export 10 times as much food.
Farming productivity is a function of energy. Specifically, fertilizer. The more energy you have, the more people you can feed. Politicians that are anti-energy are anti-food. They are pro hunger.
If I were campaigning for president my slogans would be:
The milk must flow!
The whiskey must flow!
The oil must flow!
The spice must flow!

Don't forget how communists manufactured artificial famines to control the masses. They would take all the goods from farmers (leaving them to starve) and literally let the food rot in the rail yards (after taking their lot), then tell the population that there wasn't enough to go around.
