How many times have you heard that nations have expiration dates, and that America is about to belly up?
How long has Italy been around? Or Egypt? Or Libya? Or England? Or France? Or Ethiopia? Or Syria? You can number with less than the fingers of one hand the nations that actually ceased to exist, like the Hittites and the Philistines (no relation to Palestinians). Even the Assyrians, the Medes (now known as the Kurds), the Chaldeans and the Babylonians (not Iraqis) as peoples still exist today in the Asian Steps and in tight-knit communities in the West, just robbed of their territories at the stroke of the pen by the Brits and the French when the duo redrew the map after dismantling the Ottoman empire in 1922.
Don't buy into the "theory" about countries having inevitable expiration dates. Making changes and adapting, maybe, but ceasing to exist? It's an idea designed to make you docilely accept defeat. America, this "stranger, the terrible (militarily mighty) of the nations," will still be around long after the pundits who proposed these theories have long been forgotten.

Digong will step down when his term ends next year. His daughter Sarah will step in as substitute when Gen (ret) Bato bows out of the Presidential race (our laws allow this). The Left's bet, V.P. Leny Robredo, is lionized by the press but has no serious following. Then it will be between Sarah and Manny Pacquiao. Who wins is still fuzzy. Didn't have enough to drop into my coin-operated crystal ball
Filipinos have enriched most of the non islamic world with their food, culture at least. As for their political future as a nation. That's up in the air.

@Naomi you haven't seen the ravages of Meth on Filipino society. The Left demonize the "emergency use only" cure because they want to see the drug problem grow. Take a look at the other side of the coin and see the intentionally spread disease. These drug pushers just get acquitted when judges, police and even politicians are bribed. When you take the side of pushers, you take the side that the Left and the Globalists are taking. And that's no laughing matter either. There was a reason why Duterte won: the majority of Filipinos saw drugs as an existential problem and voted for him. I didn't vote for Duterte the last time, but I might Sarah. Pacquiao might also be a good choice.
@eschatologyguy Sounds like your country is in a terrible mess. I wouldn't like to live anywhere where legalized killing is a part of life. I'm sure the majority of people in the Philippines hate the way Filipino society is now.
@Naomi You heard wrong, and from woke Western media no doubt. If you won't get into the drug business, you're fine. Deal in drugs and you're in trouble. Plenty of foreigners here enjoying themselves. This is not about killing drug addicts but drug pushers, as these profit off the misery of people. The PH is actually safer now with less pushers around.
@eschatologyguy Not sure how wokeism is relevant; I'm not interested in it. We have enough drug problems in the UK, but Boris Johnson legalising the killing of drug dealers and addicts is unthinkable.

By any historical marker, the United States has it all: undreamed of new finds of natural gas and oil, the world’s preeminent capacity for food production, continual technological wizardry, demographic growth, a superb military, the world’s top-ranked research universities, and constitutional stability.
