I would not want an individual in my circle, deciding in a vacuum, alone, the future of another life. Just as the most serious deliberation occurs in our Constitutional Republic when a person takes the life of another person, so should such a decision be made with only the most considered advice and counsel of one’s own tribe.

My tribe would demand life, not death of a fetus. Those not in my tribe may not matter much in the scale of eternity, and God grants them that choice here.

The Lord’s purposes will be accomplished no matter what. However, God gave us free will. He also gave us the Ten Commandments to define sin. The Fifth Commandment says: “Thou shalt not kill.” The Bible has numerous examples of men and women who deserved death: prostitutes Rahab and Mary Magdalene, liar Abram, idol worshipper Solomon, whoremonger Judah, murderer David. Who are we to say that any murdered child would have been a vessel of dishonour? I thank our Father daily that redemption is offered freely to all, even to such a sinner as me!
