Wow! Shock and awe. “The Squad” calls “bullshit” on Joe Manchin’s pledge to vote “no”on Build Back Broke. No surprise there. They represent the suicidal “Death of A Nation” wing of their party, and since January have freely espoused the stupidest of positions, while everyone else sits around like sleeping toads on a log, nodding and saying “ok, so that’s what they think,” as though a useful contribution to the national dialogue had just been offered.
Come on, man. They call themselves socialists, with not one speck of irony or self-reflection, and no one stands up and states the obvious: “You are really stupid. What you propose has never produced anything beyond misery, poverty, tyranny and mass murder, and so far, in this country, you seem well on course to repeat your historic failures. You should sit down and shut up.”
Surely, some remain in the Democratic Party who are thinking just that every time the Four Witches of Doom grab a microphone. Surely. One would think. Or hope.
Of course there are. They all have constituents back home they know better than to ignore, even though their party leaders and the media are happy to. And maybe they’re afraid to get into a shouting match with the children running the party, and the professional propagandists in the media.
Which means that the pressure on Manchin isn’t just from the enraged socialists who can’t accept that their 50/50 senate and four vote majority in the house doesn’t constitute a mandate. He’s getting pulled from the other side. “We’re rooting for you Joe. Hang in there. Kill this sucker. We won’t speak up ourselves, but damn it, we’re glad you’re willing to take one for the team.”
Right now I’d guess it sucks being Joe Manchin. But it also sucks knowing that an otherwise confirmed liberal is all that stands between preserving the country and watching it spill over the edge into the socialist abyss. We can thank our RINOS for that. It’s easy to see the Squad’s treason. Harder when it comes from those from whom you expect loyalty.
