There is a pattern of liberal policies failing miserable. That would include the response to the pandemic. Head start is perhaps the best example. It goes beyond a fundamental misunderstanding of human nature. It includes a misunderstanding of civilization and it's requirements.

The non productive or minimally productive elements of society are attracted to liberalism because of human instincts. The natural order is one in which productivity is alien. Other than a few species of eusocial insects humans are the only species that produce resources. But humans are not eusocial by nature. Eusociality in humans is artificially imposed by the requirements of civilization. The mistake conservatives and libertarians make is assuming that liberals are eusocial. In reality liberals are inclined towards the easy but unstable social environment and fast lifestyle we evolved for. In that world where there was no productivity emotional manipulation is key to the hierarchy. In the civilized environment the key to success is harsh and stable slow lifestyle and productivity.

What complicates things is that civilization also requires creativity and that trait is often associated with the personality types inclined towards liberalism and natural lifestyles. Unfortunately real creativity has been declining for decades along with general intelligence. We have reached a tipping point where the creative class is more disruptive than useful to civilization.

One group mentioned are terrorists the other group are protesters. It would help to distinguish one form the other. I know it is hard because anyone not forwarding the government agenda is labeled a terrorist. When people are being terrorized it is different than when a tyrannical government that is pretending to be democratically representing the people feels terrorized.
