your wording might need to be re-edited as well. monuments usually means to commemorate something/someone famous or historically notable or event. war memorials are hardly commemorative thus they are called memorials to remind one NOT to repeat history but to learn from it
if one does not learn from history then one will be doomed to repeat it, and those of us who did learn are doomed to sit by and watch it repeat because of those who refuse to learn; thus the Tytler Cycle and humanity's continual de-evolution rut

My grandparents fled war torn Europe. So yes. That history needs to be retained and remembered for the evil it did.

Yes, as a reminder to all the dangers of totalitarianism and collectivism. Far left liberals like to erase history because it helps their agenda.
