In 1937, FDR unconstitutionally threatened all 9 Justices of the Supreme Court with removal if they failed to vacate the Commerce Clause of the US Constitution. To their shame, they all caved in 1942 in Wickard v Filburn, and the vast unaccountable Federal bureaucracy was born, as FDR’s vision of Communist Central Planning went into effect as the Agriculture Department began to tell farmers what they could and could not grow.
Weary Americans, just wanting to rest after WWII, were asleep to the importance of that abandonment of the protection of their Constitutional rights, and they did nothing. That has emboldened Leftists to press for the complete abandonment of the Constitution since then in the death of a thousand cuts; the deepest being Obamacare.
Most of the American public is still asleep, and will one day realize they are in a nightmare from which there will be no awakening.

I climbed around in a field of hundreds of mothballed WWII aircraft as a kid, mostly TBM-3s and Hellcats, that still had not collected any dust. We did “Duck and Cover” in school, and I saw Kruschev pound the podium at the UN with his shoe, when Dag Hammarsjold was General Secretary. No one around that I know anymore with those kinds of memories.
True, I still work 40 hours a week and don’t have much gray hair. Both my grandparents and parents passed in their 80s & 90s without much gray.
