Another phrase that the establishment uses as a code for ideas outside the common definition is "our democracy." In common use it refers to the form of constitutional republic that has governed the United States since the ratification of the Constitution in the early 19th century. When people like Pelosi or other government actors use the phrase they're referring to their perpetual power over the people who once lived in that republic. They do not care for the Constitution of the United States, the republic it defines or the people who wish to live under it. They care only for their own power.

For this reason, I believe that a government should necessarily be conservative. The importance is the preservation of the formulation upon which the nation was established cannot be understated. Your Constitution placed individual rights above all other responsibilities of government and as the reason for government. It is only when a government is conservative, in the true sense of preserving the status quo, that the society can remain liberal. The restraints, the checks and balances, on government that are in the Constitution need to to be strictly held intact or government will become tyrannical.
A democratic republic in its true sense, not the farce that is the DPRNK (Democratic People's Republic of North Korea) is a government limited by its Constitution and a servant of the people - not the other way around.
The current deep state establishment in the US has subverted the intent of the Constitution. It is not that the nation was perfect at its inception, it is even stated that the objective was a more perfect union, the Constitution and Bill of Rights are, in my view, as perfect as anyone could get to protect the rights of individuals. all that is required for that protection is to fall under the definition of "individual" and not infringe on the same right of other individuals.
It is not all as simple as that, I suppose, there are many complexities but mist are outlined in the Constitution. Politicians should read it. Got that Bernie! Got that Barrack!

There are three kinds of people in the Republican Party, by order of their numbers: the rank and file people who love the United States and the constitution upon which it is built; the professional politicians who serve only their own interests and make up the establishment of the party; and third, the real populist candidates who live to serve the people who elected them to office and even the ones who voted against them. The vast majority of Republicans fit into that first category. The ones in the second category are easy to spot, they run for office with little prospect of an income and no experience at earning their own way then remain in office for decades amassing wealth and power at the expense of their constituents and the people at large and they obstruct the few in the third category and work to exclude them from politics altogether for fear they will upset their gravy train.
They want tyranny with a plurality of the votes.
