The US Supreme Court appears ready to strike down the landmark decision, Roe vs Wade. While conservatives are celebrating, could the abortion reversal backfire by saving the sinking Democrats in the midterms???

The rampant murder on demand of our nation’s most innocent (babies) is the biggest stain on our history. We have murdered more than 60,000,000 babies since Rowe v Wade legalized murder (of babies) on demand. That exceeds all the Americans that have ever been killed in wars plus all the Americans who have ever been killed from the dreaded covid PLANdemic plus all the Americans that have been killed illegally by other murders plus all the Americans who’ve been killed in automobiles, planes, trains, motor cycles, on horses, etc... plus, plus, plus...

Reversing Rowe v Wade will never erase the stain of our collective guilt, but it can at least reduce the irreparable damage we are inflicting on this nation and it’s future generations.

We still don’t know if this is finally the end of the horrendous part of our history, but if it is, there may be hope for a future. If it isn’t the end of our murder of the innocent babies, then we deserve to cease to exist as a country. No matter how much good an unrepentant mass-murderer does, it doesn’t erase the guilt resulting from their murders nor does it justify their continued existence. It is better that we cease to exist than that we be allowed to continue to murder our babies.

BTW, it is utter foolishness to believe that switching from DemonBrats being in power to Retardlicans being in charge will make any difference. We (Retardlicans) have had the majority many times and done nothing with it. Politicians, by and large are nothing but self seeking liars that can’t be trusted. They may be good people when the enter politics, but they inevitably become corrupt beyond redemption. Hence the need for term limits (no longer than 10 years for any government official, including the judicial branch).

Democrats love tyranny of the majority. If they have 51% of the vote, they feel that this is license to institute total apartheid over the minority.

On occasion, Democrats are in the minority on an emotional issue, such as parents vs. school boards. Virginia overwhelmingly proved that parents hate school boards. Democrats are in the minority here.

If Democrats are in the minority, they can't handle it. They feel that the majority party is a fascist party. They sabotage the majority party.

Democrats are not democratic. If they have the majority, they are dictators. If they have the minority, they sabotage. They cannot function as a bipartisan government. They weaponize government power against the opposition.

There are extreme Democrats that feel that they have the moral high ground, even if in the minority. They are dangerous. They start wars.

Democrats don't understand that if there is a large number of people with a political stance, you have to respect it. Calling them fascists won't change their minds.

The left changes it values to suit conditions.

If the left is in the 49% they immediately go into victim mode and see the 51% as supremacists. The left then feels it must mount an insurgency and create chaos

If the left has the 51% they feel entitled to dictate without question and silence the opposition because they believe their worldview is morally superior.

Given that abortion is a divisive issue, both parties should seek compromise. Letting it be decided by states is a fair compromise, and Republicans are virtuous for compromising.

Democrats cannot compromise. They have to have things all their way. They see a compromise as a loss, and they will crybully it.

Republican states are tolerant. They don't attack Democrat states if they don't like the laws in the Democrat state.

Democrats are intolerant conquistadors. If a state passes a law they don't like, they attack the state.

The weakness of the Democratic party is their failure to compromise, and the hope is that this will turn moderates against them.

Not only are Democrats selfish brats that have to have everything their way, they're also jerks. They want to use government money to pay for abortions. This is way way worse than being pro-abortion. If you're going to be pro-abortion on such a divisive issue, you damn well better not use government money for it. Democrats want Republican tax money to pay for abortions. That's being a jerk.

Democrat pundits are lying by saying that the Supreme Court wants to ban all abortion, and Democrat voters are dumb and fall for it. The only hope is to bring Democrat voters to awareness that they are gullible and crybabies.

The weakness of the Republican Party is their eagerness to compromise.
We've been taking 3-steps to the Left, 1-step to the Right, 3 to the Left, 1 to the Right, for over a century now; and are wildly off the path to a free and just society as a result... and still heading the wrong direction.
Compromise can be a good thing, and it can be self-defeating.
One thing you can't compromise within any system, is the foundational premise of the system itself.
In this case, the sovereignty of the Individual.
Every Individual.

@rway

For a century, the debt takes 3 steps up and 1 step down.

Debt began to be a problem in 1932, when FDR was elected.

Wars cause debt. American Revolutionary War, War if 1812, Civil War, WW1, WW2. America always paid it back.

Obama exploded the debt in a time of peace. Lame.

The debt is now so large that the government needs big revenue to handle it. In other words, we need a big government. Republicanism is no longer possible. Democrats planned this.

It's too late. Hyperinflation and civil war are inevitable.

@jaymaron sounds about right, except...
We don't need "Big Government" to collect big revenue.
80% or so of the Federal Budget goes to social bullshit that was never within the Government's legitimate purview in the first place.
We need to generate more wealth... by getting the Government out of the way.
And spend less of it on bullshit... also by getting the Government out of the way.
If we fixed that deficit ratio, paying off the "debt" would be inevitable.

However, I'm not sure that "debt" even matters anymore. That's exactly why they seem to be acting as if spending means nothing... because it doesn't.
The Bretton Woods game is over, and they know it.
There's a whole new game in the works

@rway

Energy -> Raw materials -> Manufactured goods -> Exports -> Wealth

Energy and wealth are tightly correlated. Democrats are anti-energy.

jaymaron.com/naturalresource.html [jaymaron.com]

America was once a frontier nation, and America made the most of its natural resources. Today, Democrats oppose natural resources. There is vast federal land that could be given to livestock farmers.

@jaymaron Agreed. They're not really anti-energy though, they're just anti-Domestic Energy; merely as an extension of their hatred for America. As you pointed out, energy is the life-blood of any developed society. (Which is also why they and their global ideological peers are desperately trying to keep developing nations from establishing their own affordable-energy infrastructures... and getting out from under the thumb of the U.N.)

I believe you are correct.

Doubt it. Pro-life voters are passionate, while the knowledge that abortion will remain legal in a lot of states will likely mollify pro-choicers.

sqeptiq Level 10 May 3, 2022

Oh no. This is the worst civil rights abuse in 50 years to most pro-choicers, I suspect. If anyone wants the most ultra-left wing government possible, I gaurantee the best way to go about doing that is to repeal Roe v. Wade.

The only reason pro-lifers don't see it that way is because they're bad at abstract reasoning and so they don't imagine what horrific and totally pointless harms repealing Roe v. Wade is going to cause.

I would be very surprised if there were not numerous assassination attempts...to the extent that I'm not going to mention that around more left-leaning websites so as to not give anyone ideas.

Abortion, to anyone with a proper capacity for abstract reasoning, is a cure for any ailment with a potential side-effect of pain. Therefore, if you legally prevent a woman from getting an abortion whose child had a birth defect or genetic disorder...you just forced the government to inject a possibly incurable disease into her child so as to avoid a potential side-effect of pain.

That said, also, if you forbid an abortion before the fetus can experience pain, that fetus lost nothing from death, so you just tortured a woman for no reason.

That said, if you forbid an abortion before the fetus can experience pain, and that fetus had a birth defect or genetic disorder...you just tortured a woman in order to prevent a child from receiving a miracle cure for an otherwise incurable ailment they had which would have had zero side-effects.

That's keeping in mind that oftentimes the ultrasounds that often detect birth defects don't occur until 18 weeks or later...and that the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists say fetuses won't feel pain until after 24 weeks, as does the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists in the U.K. Noting to, that the ACOG has dozens of thousands of members. Some people believe it's later than that. Some people believe it's earlier. The earliest I've heard anyone say the ability to experience pain might happen would be about 12 or 13 weeks, and that source didn't say the ACOG was wrong...just that it could be wrong.

So...I'm going to try to discourage people I see talking about murdering pro-lifer lawkmakers, just like I did after that horrid Texas law was implanted.

If anyone wants a communism...this is the best way to get it, because if they repeal Roe V. Wade, all my voting decisions are going to be rooted in the question of how pro-choice the candidate is...until we get some constitutional amendment that gives nationwide abortion rights similar to Roe v. Wade or more expansive...because we can't allow the Texas debacle to happen again.

The closer someone is to a screeching crackpot who spends all their time screaming "ANY LIMITS ON ABORTION ARE SLAVERY!!!" the more likely I'll be to vote for that person. While I disagree that any limits on abortion are slavery...I at least know that'll be the type of person who will try to push things in a direction I want.

I don't think there is a single issue the left and liberals care about more than this. The removal of Roe v. Wade has been Democrats' nightmare since the dawn of time.

This is our version of North Korean Nazi zombies taking over the government that we've been fantasizing about fighting against forever.

I would expect to see the biggest protests this nation has ever seen, if they repeal Roe V. Wade.

So you would burn it down over this.... you people are insane. We need a divorce, badly.

I, for one, will not be satisfied with repealing Roe v Wade.
Letting States decide whether they want to selectively allow the homicide of any segment of their respective populations, is an abdication of the founding premise of the nation itself per the Declaration, and encoded in the 14th Amendment for people who just didn't "get it."

States have sovereignty over the Federal Gov't, by the very nature of the reverse-hierarchy that begins with absolute Individual Sovereignty; portions of that sovereignty being abdicated selectively and only at their discretion (i.e., by "consent of the Governed" ); to be used exclusively to protect their rights.
States don't have any sovereign "right" to abdicate that duty, and violate the very rights they exist to protect.
