Abstinence - won't work. Sexual intercourse is as natural as is the instincts for self preservation. In fact the two are very closely connected. Reproduction for propagation of species and self preservation for the natural will to remain alive and ergo productive.
Your admonition sounds good but it is oversimplified and impractical.

The thing is that we do NOT want nor should we accept or approve of people using abortion as a means of birth control which the vast majority of abortions are demanded and used for that very purpose.
