What's the assumption?

The theory of the plundering USA getting rich off El Salvador isn’t well thought out; but let’s assume it’s true. Why would the US be responsible for these countries today? Why would the descendants of people who have been exploited historically be exempt from US law today? When do people take responsibility for themselves and their own development?
The other idea, that the Americans didn’t help them is completely false. The US spending untold billions on foreign aid year in, year out, and is the most generous nation on earth in welcoming and conferring citizenship on people from all around the world.

@GeeMac I recall Panama also. I think of the fact these countries did not improve, yet I think they could have. We're not some lands rich in various things.

Then I see what's happening, that all that aid, if in fact that happened,
solved nothing and only produced more problems.
US is squarely in this picture.

So, you've studied, seen that US just helped, didn't plunder and something else caused this chaos?

Why and how did US get so relatively rich? My experience has shown it's
often corrupt.
It's certainly corrupt now. It's whether it was before.

@2FollowHim who knows, really? People devote their lives to studying those questions, they do years of post-graduate research and write enough books to fill a library.

Why is the US so rich? It’s constitution, liberty, free markets, it’s emphasis on individual sovereignty and self-reliance, it’s geography, natural resources, and the fact that it’s success attracts the best and the brightest, breeding even more success. The list goes and and on.

I also know this. The left blames all the ills of the world on the US. They denounce America as a racist patriarchy and cry “Yankee go home”, while they flood America with immigrants, both legal and illegal, all demanding citizenship.

No wants the US as the world’s policeman; yet they all want America to be the world’s mother.

History, like life, is brutal. Until Donald Trump, no one dared put America first. Until Americas embrace the attitude that they owe no one anything, the country will continue to slide into ruin, and I guarantee the world will not be better for it.

@2FollowHim I’d add on the subject of US corruption, why wouldn’t America have corruption? Show me a single nation on earth without it. Corruption is part of the human condition.

The difference with Western institutions is that rule of law helps keep much corruption in check. In the West, corruption has become an obsession: investigated, studied, analyzed, recorded, published, taught in the schools, then served with an apology and compensation. You simply don’t see this happen in most of Asia, Africa or the Middle East.

Now we not only root out today’s corruption, but under the lead of the left, we hunt for historical wrongs, and try to create a happier past. Corruption should be dealt with, but the strategy of never ending self-recrimination is hastening our demise as a culture.
