What we Americans have is a democratic system of government………..TYPICALLY through elected representatives. As opposed to a government in which supreme power is held by the people and their elected representatives. The former being TYPICALLY a democracy; while the later a republic in which supreme power is held by the people and their elected representatives.

What Mr. Hilton is pointing out is the painful fact that TYPICALLY means by UNELECTED people rather than those elected by the people to make decisions for them.

Another distinction between socialism and liberty is found in the centralization of power and control. And once again the differences between our Republic and their democracy stands out if you know where to look. Once again the snake is beseeching woman who before it did transgress. In point of fact, the words ‘liberty’ and ‘socialism’ have no place even being spoken in the same breath.
