An individual right cannot be imposed by the State only a privilege extended or a right protected. The imposition of a right devised by the State is a tyranny or minimally a law.
Individuals originated the US Constitution not the State. The individuals formed the State from scratch. The Declaration of Independence left them without a head of State and the opportunity to originate a document based upon the recognition of the sovereignty of the individual and a structure that intended the State to be self-limiting and not escape the oversight of the people.

Oh, that I wish the State could impose the original Bill of Rights upon us or even be entrusted to keep them. We will impose upon you, the freedom of speech, the right to bear arms. Don't worry, you can entrust us to keep these rights all individuals should enjoy. Well...on second thought...they are not absolute. We should be able to adjust them to suit modern times. We have to prevent people from being misinformed, you know, so a little tweaking may be necessary on the freedom of speech - lying is unacceptable, after all. The Bill of Rights needs to be brought up to speed.

Let's just give ourselves(the State)...a-ahem.. a little more freedom while making the country a little safer. What's wrong with that? We can convince individuals to see a lack of need for arms. We are here to protect and secure them. Individuals that want arms are dangerous to society and the more individuals that want them the more they are a danger to the nation....especially us career politicians.

I am hearing this coming from the Democrat party and some Republicans. It is tyranny. It is certainly not justice. These people are ethically challenged and morally bankrupt.
