Can you think of a good name for this new type of socialism we will more than likely have to endure? You know, just to separate it from the old failures.

@FrankZeleniuk Haha, no problem. Well, of course I insist that this is a new phase of capitalism, the previous being neoliberalism. The buzzwords seem to be network society, technocapitalism, transnationalism, stakeholder capitalism, social entrepreneurship, late stage capitalism, and neofeudalism.

I don't think they're going to make cars illegal, btw. Though I think the first phase will be different private regulatory experiments on a state by state basis. Eventually churches will administer red states (notice the Family Research Council is now classified as a church) and liberal non profits will administer blue states.

@WilyRickWiles Well....capitalism implies there is some modicum of a market and people can buy things they want. Transnationalism might define the concept. Let's go with that.

Capitalism seems to edge it's way through history; you know, a market of sorts and black markets appear in non-capitalist states. It seems there is no shortage of authoritarians, totalitarians, wanna be Kings and Dictators that like to imbue themselves, their relatives, friends and associates with riches and privileges from the abundant production of the people - essentially where capitalists are, or by printing riches for themselves .

The problem with capitalism is that the character of business owners over time becomes sullied. Capitalism can only thrive when there is honesty, integrity, respect among the players and a sound medium of exchange. The medium of exchange is the first target of Kings, Dictators, Authoritarians and totalitarians.

How do Capitalists get sullied? They become alloyed in their relationship with Kings, Dictators, authoritarians and totalitarians who impose themselves on the market. Soon Kings, Dictators, authoritarians and totalitarians claim their corruption and the poverty of the kingdom is really the fault of greedy capitalists. After all, someone has to be blamed and must suffer.

I am in total agreement that capitalism can become tainted when the ethic is lost. Society itself then reflects a lower set of mores. The honest Kings, Dictators, Authoritarians and totalitarians then have reason to destroy the corrupt, unethical and greedy capitalists they enticed into partnership. Their next mistake is to first use the public to do so and then remove all rights and freedoms from them after because they are now a danger to politicians. Now there is a revolt and we are back to capitalism.

It's a never ending cycle. Dishonesty, collusion with governmental authority, deception, etc., must all be recognized as social destroyers. Power, as you know, tends to corrupt though.

When you start seeing force propping up a capitalist society and integrity called into question, power has corrupted it.

Right, just private ownership of cars will be illegal.
