As I understand the situation, Twitter is either a ‘internet platform’ or it’s an ‘internet publisher’-- is that correct?

Well right off the bat, it (Twitter) is clearly not a publisher? That leaving only ‘internet platform’ in consideration?

This leaves me to ponder just how liable is a brick & mortar shop owner for the utterances of his/her patrons while physically standing on his/her property? As the internet itself is a public cyber thoroughfare – am I right? And sites along this cyber thoroughfare may or may not represent themselves as ‘platforms’ or ‘sites’ as they actually are? If indeed Twitter is a ‘platform’ it has without doubt established itself as a ‘private platform’? This leads me to wonder just how responsible is the DNC (Democratic National Committee) for what is said during its private sessions or executive sessions – if that be more accurate terminology, not knowing if they use Roberts Rules of Order conducting such meeting?

It appears that Twitter, by establishing itself, as a ‘private platform’ they do indeed have every right to control speech of their patrons – no matter how distasteful that is by contravening free speech? Just like the KKK, Black Panthers, or any other distasteful organization has a right to control speech on their ‘private platform(s)? When the 1st Amendment to the Constitution doesn’t apply to thee it doesn’t apply to me either?

I started this post with the objective accentuating the speech is an extension of thought – to stifle free speech is to simultaneously stifle free thought? And to also accentuate that oral speech and the printed word are indistinguishable? In so doing, I’ve managed to run right into a brick wall.
It appears to be a quagmire that can only be circumvented by the actions of honest good hearted people – that don’t appear to exist at Twitter?
