Good thing for them, because if they try to draw money out of my checking account that I did not personally authorize they'll be prosecuted for larceny.

Many companies use the sneaky Terms of Service to make sure when people accept they give up on their right to sue , especially class action lawsuit. Also they tried to sneak in this new idea and few others, and if nobody notices, great. if they do, there is backlash, they pretend its a mistake but still keep their right to terminate accounts etc. They do that often. Throw outlandish few ideas, test how it goes with the public, and if there is backlash, give up some ground but not all. You are still moving the boundary. than few months of years later, try again, move the line again. Eventually they will get it. Best to either not use them or find alternatives and have more than one option.
Patreon was as you said doing this cancel culture thing before paypal, I think. And they are still doin git. All the big tech is the same.
@Krunoslav It was the monetary forfeiture that convinced me not to stay. If PayPal tries to take money out of my checking account without my direct permission there will be criminal larceny charges brought. My sheriff and DA are not playing around with protecting veterans on disability.
