Humans have a survival instinct. And those that planned this should be among those who have to suffer the consequences.

@Arty my point is that in the event of all out global nuclear warfare literally everyone will suffer and die - even those who might still be alive after the dust settles. The entire eco-system will be radioactive - water, air, food, there likely will be no electrical power. I have no doubt about that. "Those who planned..." won't get away unharmed at all.

Birchers? A new term for me. But yes many seem to be in love with death.

Before 1945, nobody thought of Matt 24:22 as literal, as nobody could imagine conventional bombs, rifles and bayonets wiping out all life from the face of the planet. Matt 24:22 is a technology statement. There will be WW3 (albeit a shortened one) and there will be life on earth after that.

@eschatologyguy Life maybe. More like a living hell. I believe the average American consumer has no idea what life will be like after a nuclear conflict anywhere on the planet. It won't be one or two bombs. Everything will change everywhere. No safe food or water for hundreds of years.

Mankind have lived though appalling times before. But you are right no one alive in the modern age has a clue how bad it will be. I can think about the nuclear winter and radiation, I can think about the starvation. I can think about the birth deformities of the few who will get that far. I can think about the life and death struggle everyday will bring just in the gathering of food and water and shelter. But I would be delusional if I believed that My thoughts were even close to the reality. Brutal is inadequate.

@TimTuolomne I take the bible and the prophecies in it seriously. I view current events in light of prophecy. Full blown nuclear war at this time?

Matthew 24:6
"And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet."

What triggers the tribulation is the appearance and rise of the antichrist. How the tribulation culminates is WW3. it will indeed be short as Christ says it needs to be. Just 45 days long. Then Christ returns to stop it.

Thats why I don't sweat it. I take comfort in Christ's words.
