@eschatologyguy Depopulation cannot be immediate. They first have to cull out those with the backbone and foresight to resist. The NPC's and CNN addicts can be used as cannon fodder to help that out.

The exact same reasons the Cold War stayed nuclear free still stands today.

@Arty The world is too full of deluded, insane leaders that MAD is no longer a guarantee. Most geopolitical analysts think it's coming. But that's not, along with more serious pandemics, man-made famines and economic downturns, our only causes for concern. NASA had posted an item about this in 2011, but then edited it out in 2013. 77 years of post nuclear wars where nuclear powers lost and lost badly against non-nuclear powers supported by proxy by other nuclear powers.
Afghanistan (twice), Vietnam, Korea, Georgia, now Ukraine and next year Taiwan.

I am not saying nuclear war will not happen, however you are propagating the idea that we should just let nuclear powers attack and conquer non-nuclear powers?
This was never allowed before and the nuclear power often ended up with a blood nose and going home tail between legs.

Now, the merits of Ukraine and Russia and the plight of the Ukrainian peoples under either western or eastern rule is another discussion Z
However your argument that Ukraine should just roll over and no is to help them because Russia has nuclear weapons is completely unjustified.
