“You are sitting here telling an African American about the rights and what you find insulting about the way I live, the skin I live in every day!” Lemon said. “I know the freedoms that black and white, that black people don’t have in this country and that black people do have.”
Lemon then said it was “insulting” that Ramaswamy was “sitting here, whatever ethnicity you are ‘splaining to me what it’s like to be black in America.”
Hilarious! Makes a lot of blax hot under the collar if you tell them they aren't oppressed.
Then why don't you tell me what it is like to be Black in America so we can all see how you got to be rich and influential here? I'm sure people would like to know. You can also tell them how a gay person can become rich and influential in America. It's impossible for an East Indian cis-gendered person to know these things. Is it due to you being given privilege over others? Is it because you are so talented and intelligent?
I just find that argument that unless you are Black you can't tell me what it is like to be Black in America. It wouldn't matter if Ramaswamy was Black or not, LeMon still wouldn't listen. It's just a way to appear morally superior.
