Well to be fair, anyone opposed to the 2A had their fingers crossed that Some Very Bad People would do some Very Bad Thing(s) and result in the same or similar... So there's that.

White nationalist groups are always under surveillance by multiple federal agencies and have been for 20-30 years. It is such a statistical minority that it poses no real threat as a whole. Of course "lone wolf" attacks by nutjobs (regardless of race/creed/color/) are alway possible
It's a shame that 20,000+ patriots peaceably demostatating for their constitutional rights showed up instead. I'm sure that MSNBC, CNN and the democrat party et al would have prefered violence. But thankfully, an armed populace is a polite populace.
